GDI Completes Interior Systems Scope for 475 Flora Transitional Housing Project

GDI completed drywall, ACT ceilings, and specialty wood ceiling installations throughout the 475 Flora Avenue development.

Winnipeg, MB – October 2026
GDI is proud to announce the successful completion of its interior systems scope at 475 Flora Avenue, a new transitional housing development in Winnipeg that will support youth through housing and community-based services provided by Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad (Ndinawe).

Constructed under the supervision of Marrbeck Construction Ltd. and designed by MMP Architects Inc., this three-storey wood-frame development was created to provide safe, supportive housing for youth transitioning to independent living in Winnipeg's North End.
GDI was responsible for the installation of:

  • Drywall systems throughout the facility
  • Acoustic ceiling tile (ACT) ceiling systems
  • Specialty wood ceiling features in the main entrance and common areas

Completed from start to finish within approximately one year, the project demonstrates the collaboration between contractors, designers, and community organizations working to create quality spaces that serve an important purpose.

One of the project's standout architectural features is the specialty wood ceiling installation within the front entrance and gathering areas. These elements contribute warmth, durability, and a welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors entering the building.

As a trusted commercial drywall and interior systems contractor serving Manitoba and Saskatchewan, GDI is proud to contribute to projects that strengthen communities while meeting the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
