Paul is the Chief Estimator/Senior Project manager for the commercial division at GDI. He started in the industry in 1991 at the age of 18, eventually starting his own small business in 1998 and also working as a site foreman. In 2006 Paul decided to explore a different career direction when he was accepted into NAV Canada’s air traffic control school. After pursuing this for a year, Paul made the decision to go back into the drywall industry, as GDI offered him an estimating position – he hasn’t looked back since.
Currently, Paul is responsible for running the office side of GDI’s commercial division as well as managing 5 commercial estimators/project managers. He is also responsible for estimating and managing the commercial work out of GDI’s new office in Regina. Paul has gained a reputation as being a very hard working, fair and honest senior manager at GDI.
Greg has been involved in the drywall industry since 1995, starting out in the distribution side of the industry, then moving on to becoming a journeyman tradesman. Greg started his own company in 2001 as Davenport Interiors Ltd.
In early 2012, Greg joined the GDI family of companies, forming Davenport Interiors Limited Partnership (DILP) and through this partnership has continued to grow Davenport’s business. Greg specializes in estimating & managing high end custom homes for some of Winnipeg’s premier builders.
As well, D.I.L.P. has found a niche in the wood framed/steel stud multi-family drywall business.
Justin began in the drywall industry in 1999 working as a taping apprentice for GDI with his father as his “teacher/mentor”. Justin moved on to having his own residential taping crew for GDI before coming off the tools in 2009 and moving into the supervisor roll for the company.
Justin has since moved into a management position as GDI’s Residential Production Manager and possesses impeccable logistic & systems skills while operating GDI’s proprietary IT residential production management system.
Jeremy has been working in the commercial construction industry since 1998. He started in the drywall construction industry at the age of 18, becoming a site foreman in 2004. The following year became a commercial projects supervisor. Jeremy is known in the industry for his attitude, knowledge and ability to collaboratively & successfully complete projects on time and on budget.
Jeremy has several constructions related courses with instructor status’ as well as being a former licensed paramedic. Joining the GDI team in January 2016, Jeremy started as a senior commercial projects supervisor and is currently transitioning to a commercial/multi-family divisions estimating/project manager role.
Raelene has been with GDI since 2013. Raelene attended Winnipeg Technical College where she attained a business administrative assistant diploma. Raelene provides accounting & administrative support and her expertise in these fields is very beneficial to our office and site staff. She also assists our estimators and project managers with bidding and invoicing documents. Raelene is also our friendly and helpful receptionist.
John has been in the commercial drywall & acoustic industry for over 36 years. John joined the GDI estimating team in 2010. A 1979 graduate from RRCC, John has be involved in the estimating & project management of a vast variety of jobs ranging from the smallest to the largest projects built in Manitoba. John is a valued Senior Estimator / Project Manager here at GDI, where we utilize his wide-ranging and varied experience. John has extensive knowledge of conceptual design development budgets to hard bid projects including schools, medical facilities, commercial spaces, industrial facilities, government institutions and large multi-storey multi-family steel framing/drywall projects ranging in size from $50,000 to $15 million dollars for the past eight years.
Adam entered the drywall industry at the age of 15 while working on the drywall scrap truck during summer vacations. This continued until after high school, when he began his career as a commercial steel stud framing apprentice. Adam worked full time for a number of years as a commercial site employee, all the while attending the University of Manitoba as a part-time student. Adam received his Bachelor Degree in Economics with a minor in business in 2011. Adam then went on to pursue a Building Construction Technician Certificate from Red River College. Adam advanced in his career in July of 2013, becoming a member of GDI’s office staff, where he currently works as a precise commercial estimator and well respected project manager.
Anton is a graduate from the Civil Technology/Building Design CAD diploma program from Red River College. A silver medalist in Skills Canada competition. Anton has worked in the structural design and estimating side of the business for over 15 years. Anton joined GDI to hone his expertise in wall & ceiling systems industry, plus use his vast experience in structural design to compliment his project management duties. Anton enjoys building relationships with GDI customers by providing accurate take-off’s and ensuring top quality, reliable workmanship.
Toney has been officially involved in the construction industry since he was 17. Starting with his apprenticeship and Red Seal Certification in the trade. He joined GDI in 2012, working in the field as a journeyperson. Quickly gathering more information and knowledge of the trade, he made his way into foremanship with GDI. After almost 2 years into foremanship, he accepted a position as Instructor of the Lather (ISM) trade and Drafting Fundamentals, at Red River College.
While at the College he was nominated for Instructor of the Year by Apprenticeship Manitoba; obtained certificates in ‘Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Systems’ and ‘Business Management’, and education towards a Bachelors in Education. He was notably the first person, in Canada, to instruct a federally and provincially funded course that introduces refugees and new Canadians to the trades.
After 3 teaching and instructing terms, Toney had decided to leave behind his position at Red River College to accept an estimating/project management position, back at GDI.
Ryan started his career installing insulation, vapour barrier and drywall in 2002. Just less than a year later Ryan branched off on his own, running his own drywall crew. In 2007 Ryan furthered his career in the role as sites supervisor for Davenport Interiors Ltd. Ryan approaches all he deals with in a low-key, respectful manner and his experience & knowledge working with new home builders and tradesmen on site is second to none.
Steve has been working in new home construction for GDI over 15 years, concentrating on insulation and building envelopes. Steve moved into his role as Residential Division Site Foreman in 2015. Although a production home specialist, Steve especially looks forward to the challenges brought by custom designed spaces which fall outside of the ordinary specifications.
Our home builder customers have come to rely on Steve’s experience to ensure that even the smallest of details are not missed.
Adam started in the trade in 2003 and quickly achieved his Red Seal Certification. In January, 2016 Adam became a member of GDI’s Commercial Division and was picked to be the safety leader on his first project – The Season’s of Tuxedo Mall project with PCL Constructors. Adam’s breadth of experience and interpersonal skills make him an excellent fit to serve our Residential customers as a Residential Division Foreman. Adam also assists the Safety Manager with Occupational Safety and Health concerns and is a CSAM Registered COR Auditor.
Adam’s extensive background within commercial, multifamily and residential means that he is familiar with, and willing to take on, just about any building project that is available. With his 14 years in the trade experience, coupled with 9 years of management and supervisor experience, we know Adam sees projects work to their best efficiencies and above our customers’ expectations.
Dave has been in the drywall industry for 30 years. Dave had his own drywall business for 10 of those years. Dave has been with GDI for 14 years now, starting in 2001 as a taper that had the highest degree of work ethic & standards. Dave moved further along in his career as a service technician, foreman and for the past 4 years has been managing GDI & D.I.L.P.’s residential service department.

GDI was the first drywall contractor in Manitoba to attain COR designation. Gypsum Drywall Interiors Ltd. has maintained its’ COR Safety Certification since it was achieved in March 2006. Ihor works fulltime as Safety Officer for both GDI & D.I.L.P. As GDI’s Safety Program has grown and continues to evolve to answer changing needs and regulations, Ihor works to ensure consistent control and communications between our workers, management, customers and regulators. Ihor has been dealing with GDI’s safety for 6 years. Ihor takes care of both GDI’s & DILP’s WCB claims and Return-To-Work processes. He has also been actively involved with MSI research projects in conjunction with the MWCB. Ihor is also busy day to day with training and orientations for WHMIS, Fall Protection, Lifts, MSI Reduction and Scaffold Safety. We are very fortunate to have Ihor on our management team.
Reggie is the commercial operations manager for GDI Saskatchewan. Reggie moved to Saskatchewan from Ireland in 2013 after many years running his own drywall construction business. Reggie immediately began worked in the commercial construction field in Saskatchewan before joining the GDI Saskatchewan team in early 2016. Reggie is a consummate professional and lives the GDI motto everyday in all his professional relationships; being – “Fair, Firm and Honest.”
Bryce is the Commercial Division estimator/project manager for GDI in Saskatchewan. Bryce has been active as both a contractor and site supervisor for almost 20 years. In 2016 Bryce proudly decided to make the natural move to the estimating & project management side of the business, following in his father, Denis’ footsteps. (Denis was a Principal and Senior Estimator with GDI until his retirement in 2010).
Bryce’s skills in the field have made him an invaluable asset to the GDI Saskatchewan Team.
